About Us

Rugby League Ireland (RLI) is the National Governing Body (NGB) for the great sport of Rugby League for the whole island of Ireland – we are tasked with growing our sport, running Domestic competitions, and managing Representative squads to compete internationally.

RLI is governed by a nine person Board being six elected from Members, including the Chair, Secretary, and the Treasurer, and three independent members appointed by the Board. RLI is proud that its governing Board has a 45% female gender balance.

RLI is a full senior member of both the European Rugby League and International Rugby League, the Governing Bodies for European and Global Rugby League respectively.

RLI is also a full member of Sport Ireland and Sport Northern Ireland authorities. We are fully compliant with the Irish Government’s Code for Sport as administered by Sport Ireland. RLI is also a full member of the Federation of Irish Sport.

Domestically RLI administrates over two Men’s Senior Leagues (Premiership & Championship) and a Women’s league with Clubs all over the island competing to make it to their respective Grand Final and be crowned All Ireland Champions.
