2025 Celtic Cup Squad Announced
Our wheelchair rugby league squad has been announced (see graphic below) ahead of the 2025 Celtic Cup, taking place on Saturday 24th May at Archers Arena, Cardiff. The competition sees hosts Wales competing against Ireland and Scotland for the trophy, which Ireland won in Galway last year.
The Celtic Cup fixtures are: 11:00 – Wales v Scotland, 13:00 – Ireland v Scotland, 15:00 – Ireland v Wales
On selection, coach Phil Roberts said, “Our domestic competition has increased participation significantly, while the playing opportunities have improved skill and experience levels across a host of players. This has meant strong competition for places and some very tough choices to select the final squad. Congratulations to all of those selected, and I hope that the players who have missed out this time will continue to challenge for a shirt.”
Regarding the competition, Roberts added, “The Celtic Cup has gone from strength to strength each year and we fully expect this to be the toughest tournament yet. We are excited to get on court and test ourselves in what promises to be an exciting day of wheelchair rugby league.”
